A little known fact about the Pride Houston's 'man in the stars' logo. It was designed
by this man's daughter, who did it to memorialize her father, Bill Whiting. It ended
up being the winning logo in 1997, the first year that the Pride Parade went nighttime.
The committee liked the design and retained the 'man in the stars' element for their
permanent logo (below, right).
